Livigno
The best resort in Lombardy, high, snow sure, duty free and excellent value for every level.
Livigno sits at around 1,800 m in a high valley near the Swiss border, with about 115 km of pistes split evenly across the ability range and a famously reliable snow record into spring. Its duty free status keeps lift passes, lodging, fuel and dining among the cheapest in the Alps, and it has a strong terrain park and freeride scene.
It is remote, with a transfer of around four hours from Milan, and the long, straggling village lacks Italian old town charm. For snow sure, great value skiing with something for everyone, it is the clear number one and beats Bormio on reliability and price.
