Serre Chevalier
The complete Southern Alps resort, big and sunny with gentle slopes for beginners and real terrain for everyone else.
Serre Chevalier is the easy first choice. It spreads across four linked villages and a large, tree lined ski area, so a first week skier gets long, confidence building green and blue runs while stronger skiers in the group head higher for steeper pistes and trees.
The lower villages are warm and characterful and the ski schools are well run and patient. For a mixed group that wants sunshine, space and a forgiving place to learn, nothing else in the South matches it.
