Levi
Finland's biggest and most complete ski resort, with gentle fell skiing, floodlit pistes and a proper village at the base.
Levi is the closest thing Finland has to an Alpine resort. Around 40 runs spread over a rounded fell, most of them blue or easier, with a gondola, extensive floodlighting for the dark weeks and a compact walkable village with hotels, restaurants and shops at the bottom of the front slopes.
It takes the top spot because everything a beginner needs sits in one place: patient instructors used to absolute first timers, wide nursery zones, short lift rides and a bed base you can ski back to. Kittila airport is roughly 15 minutes away, which makes the transfer the easiest in this list.
