Cervinia
Italy's best family mountain, with vast gentle terrain and the most reliable snow.
Cervinia wins because it does the hardest thing brilliantly: it gives beginners and young children huge, sunny, gentle runs at high altitude where the snow is almost always good. The long, wide blues let a nervous child build confidence over real distance rather than a single short slope.
It beats Val Gardena for the top spot purely on snow reliability and the gentleness of its terrain. Val Gardena is prettier, but nowhere in Italy is kinder to a first time skier than Cervinia.
