For a weekend, Sestriere is the sweet spot, high enough for reliable snow, on the same giant Via Lattea pass and just over an hour up the valley. It is plain to look at but it skis big and holds snow when the lower resorts are scraping by.
For a full week, the longer transfer pays off in the Aosta Valley.
