Meribel and Saint Martin de Belleville both ski Les Trois Vallees, the largest linked ski area on earth at around 600 km of pistes, but they offer very different weeks. I have based families in both. Meribel is the central engine room of the area, busy, chalet pretty and superbly connected; Saint Martin sits lower and quieter in the Belleville valley, a real old village that trades a little convenience for a great deal of character and a softer bill.
