Cortina d'Ampezzo
Italy's finest non skier resort, glamorous, scenic and made for time off the slopes.
Cortina d'Ampezzo is the clear number one for non skiers in Italy, a chic Dolomites town ringed by some of the most dramatic peaks in the Alps. The pedestrian Corso Italia is lined with designer shops, cafes and fine restaurants, and there are spas, a skating stadium and easy cable car rides for the views.
It hosts events for the 2026 Winter Olympics, which has sharpened the town further. The only catch is price, since Cortina is one of Italy's most expensive resorts, but for a non skier who wants atmosphere and scenery it beats everywhere else in the country.
