Aussois and Valmeinier are both Maurienne resorts, but they suit different trips. The honest split is this. Valmeinier is the bigger and more varied ski mountain, the better choice for a full week or for stronger and mixed ability groups who want room to roam. Both are good family choices, but they suit different families. Aussois is gentle, sunny and calm, ideal for the youngest children and nervous first timers who want a low stress week. Access
