Skip it if you demand a high snow sure base or serious expert terrain, because the village sits at a modest altitude and the hardest runs here are few.

Families. Very good. Adelboden is a warm, walkable chalet village with gentle local slopes, good ski schools and a relaxed pace that suits families well. The skiing spreads across several sectors linked by lift and bus, so you can match the terrain to children's ability, and the village itself is a pleasure to come back to.
Beginners. Good. There are gentle nursery areas and easy blues close to the village and at the sector tops, and the atmosphere is unintimidating. The one caveat is the layout, the area is spread across valleys, so plan your beginner days around one or two sectors rather than trying to roam the whole 210 km.
Intermediates. The core audience. Around 210 km of mostly blue and red cruising across the Adelboden and Lenk sectors gives a confident intermediate a full, varied week, with sunny aspects and consistently good grooming. The terrain rewards mileage and scenery hunting more than it tests technique.
Experts. Modestly served, with one famous exception. The Chuenisbargli World Cup giant slalom slope is a genuinely steep, demanding piste, and there is some off piste to find after a fresh fall, but the volume of expert terrain is limited. A strong skier will enjoy a few days but should not plan a week around the steeps.
Non skiers. Well catered for. The village has good hotels, restaurants, winter walking trails, sledding and the easy charm of a real Bernese town, plus quick rail links to Interlaken and the wider Oberland for day trips. A non skier can fill a happy week here without touching a lift.

This is where Adelboden shines. It is a genuine, lived in Bernese chalet village, all dark timber, flower box balconies and a main street that curves along a sunny shelf with the mountains rising on every side. It has none of the purpose built blankness of the high apartment stations, and it earns its reputation as one of the prettier resort villages in Switzerland.
The evenings are relaxed and Swiss rather than raucous. Expect good restaurants, cozy hotel bars and a fondue or two rather than a thumping apres ski scene, though there is enough going on to keep most groups content. Couples, families and anyone who values atmosphere over nightlife will feel at home; committed party skiers should look to a livelier resort.

Stay central in the village for the restaurants and the easy charm and use the ski bus and lifts to reach the sectors, or pick lodging near the Chuenisbargli or Hahnenmoos lifts if minimizing the morning shuffle matters more. A car is not necessary given the rail and bus links, but it helps for exploring the wider Oberland.

Adelboden is well placed for the Swiss airports. Bern is closest at around 1h 30m, with Zurich around 2h 30m and Geneva a similar distance, all on good roads. The train and postbus network reaches Adelboden comfortably via Frutigen, which makes a car free trip realistic, and the rail connections open up Interlaken and the rest of the Oberland for non skiing days. A car adds flexibility but is not required.
