It has invested heavily in learner terrain, with large, well organized beginner areas, dedicated children's zones and an excellent ski school, plus snow sure higher slopes and plenty of gentle blues to progress onto. It is best known for its freestyle scene, but that same forward thinking culture has produced first rate family facilities.

It ranks second only because the villages of Laax and Flims are more spread out and car oriented than the contained calm of Arosa, so the daily logistics take a little more organizing with very young children. On the snow and for teaching, it is superb, and families with older children may well prefer it.

Davos Klosters

The big all rounder

The largest area in the canton, with the gentle Madrisa family mountain and huge variety for mixed ability groups.
